Privacy notice
This notice explains how The Red Door Edinburgh handles personal information when you use this website or contact the host about a stay.
Information we receive
If you telephone or message the host, you may provide your name, phone number, preferred dates, guest numbers and the details needed to answer your enquiry or arrange a stay. This website itself has no account area, payment form, analytics or advertising tracker.
Why we use it
We use enquiry details to respond to you, assess availability, communicate about a possible or confirmed stay, comply with legal obligations and protect the property and guests. The legal bases are taking steps at your request before a contract, performing a booking contract where one exists, and legitimate interests in operating and securing the accommodation.
Who receives it
Your information is handled by the accommodation host and service providers needed to operate the website or booking. If you choose WhatsApp, Meta processes your message under its own terms and privacy policy. Website hosting providers may process limited technical logs such as IP address and browser information to deliver and secure the site.
Retention
Enquiry information is kept only as long as needed to respond and manage the booking process. Booking and payment records are kept for the periods required by law. Messages that do not lead to a stay are reviewed and deleted when no longer needed.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your information, or object to certain processing. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. Contact the host using the number above first so we can help.
Changes
We may update this notice when the way the website or bookings operate changes. The current version is published here.
